As we step into 2025, it is essential to reflect on our journey and embrace the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. At Overture, we are driven by a resolute commitment to transforming the landscape of child welfare in Haiti. We recognize that true transformation requires collaboration, leadership and community. Our partnerships with families and agencies like IBESR and BPM, alongside our community initiatives, have created a foundation upon which we build hope, resilience, and empowerment for the most vulnerable among us: the children of Haiti. Together, through our partnerships and the continued support of our donors, we are building a stronger Haiti — not by quick fixes but through sustainable, community-driven solutions.
Outlook for 2025:
EMPOWERMENT Through Collaboration
At the core of Overture’s mission lies a profound conviction: every child deserves a safe, loving home and the opportunity to thrive. This belief drives our work, ensuring that families and communities have the tools and resources to move from dependence to self-reliance.

Over the past five years, Overture has forged critical partnerships with key child protection agencies, including IBESR (Haiti’s child welfare agency) and BPM (Haiti’s judicial arm for child protection). Together, we’ve developed and implemented three core initiatives to safeguard children and empower communities toward lasting progress.
As we enter 2025, the Les Cayes (ESPWA) campus will be transformed into the first Community Complex for Child Protection in Southern Haiti to implement these core initiatives.
While the campus remains a vital place for programs of education, nutrition, and healthcare, these initiatives will allow the campus to be fully utilized while empowering agencies like IBESR and families to protect children better and preserve families.
Initiative 1. Reunification: A Journey Back Home

At the heart of our mission is the urgent need to address the deeply entrenched issue of child institutionalization in Haiti. For too long, children have been relinquished to orphanages due to poverty and systemic neglect, rather than genuine loss. In 2025, we will continue our relentless pursuit of reunifying children with their biological families or placing them in loving foster homes. Each successful reunification is not merely a return to family; it is a beacon of hope for entire communities. Our campus serves as a sanctuary, a place of healing, where children can receive psychosocial support before reintegrating with their families. We envision a future where no child is deprived of family love and care, and we are unwavering in our commitment to make that vision a reality.
Initiative 2. Reintegration: Empowering Street Children

Street children in Haiti face unimaginable hardships, often living on the fringes of society without access to basic needs or opportunities. Our Reintegration program is designed to provide these vulnerable children and their families with the tools necessary to break free from the cycle of poverty. In 2025, we will amplify our efforts by expanding educational support, vocational training, and psychosocial counseling. Our aim is to ensure that each child finds not just a pathway out of poverty, but a sustainable future filled with possibilities. Gone are the days of lost hope; we are committed to lighting the way forward.
Initiative 3. Rejuvenation: Investing in Haiti’s Future

Haiti’s youth are its greatest asset, yet they often find themselves ensnared in cycles of violence and desperation. Our Rejuvenation program is dedicated to empowering young people at risk, particularly those emerging from gang affiliations or facing incarceration. In 2025, we will expand our mentorship programs and provide comprehensive life-skills training that paves the way for positive life choices. We believe that every young person deserves a chance to thrive, and we are prepared to invest in innovative solutions that promote their growth and development. By fostering resilience and self-efficacy, we are not just changing individual lives; we are igniting a movement toward a brighter, more peaceful future for Haiti.
EDUCATION: Bridging Gaps and Building Futures

Education is the cornerstone of any society, and in Haiti, it is a lifeline for families at risk. In 2025, we will prioritize scholarships for children at risk of separation or those enrolled in our family preservation programs. Education is not merely a privilege—it is a right that has the power to keep families united and communities strong. With every scholarship, we empower families to stay united and reduce the risk of a child being placed in an orphanage. Additionally, we will continue to support community committees that engage parents and local leaders in school management. We aim to cultivate local leadership and ownership in our educational initiatives, ensuring that schools operate independently and sustainably.

NUTRITION: Nourishing Bodies and Minds
The violence and instability in Haiti have obstructed our nutritional outreach, but we remain steadfast in our mission. In 2025, we aim to pack 200,000 meals, building on our commitment to combat hunger and malnutrition. With the support of our partners, including Midwest Food Bank, we will resume our efforts to nourish not just bodies but minds. A well-fed child is better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive. Our Diri Lavi initiative stands as a testament to our resolve, and we are determined to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry.
HEALTHCARE: Healing Through Compassionate Care

The scars of trauma run deep in Haiti, and access to healthcare—especially psychosocial services—is critical for healing. In 2025, we will prioritize these services both on our campus and in vulnerable communities. Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to addressing the emotional and psychological wounds inflicted by orphanages, abuse, natural disasters, or other traumas. We believe every child has the right to heal, be heard, and be treated with dignity. We nurture a generation that can rise above its challenges by fostering an environment of compassion and care.
INFRASTRUCTURE: Building a Better Tomorrow

In the face of adversity, our infrastructure initiatives have not wavered. Despite facing supply shortages and logistical challenges, we have successfully built three disaster-resistant homes for families at risk of separation. Our goal for 2025 is to complete the construction of six additional homes, providing safe and stable housing for even more families in need. By investing in infrastructure, we are laying the groundwork for a safer, more resilient Haiti—one where children can thrive within their own homes and communities.
Overcoming Challenges with Perseverance
Haiti faces immense challenges — political instability, economic turmoil and natural disasters have all left lasting scars. Yet, Overture refuses to allow these challenges to be barriers to progress. Our approach is rooted in faith and perseverance, knowing that lasting transformation requires unwavering commitment and collaboration.
As we look ahead to 2025, our resolve is stronger than ever. With each passing year, we have seen firsthand the transformative power of family-based care and community-driven solutions. While the progress we’ve made is encouraging, there is still so much more to do to equip and empower Haitians to move from dependence to self-reliance. Families and communities continue to face crises, and too many children remain vulnerable and put in harm's way. But with your support, we can continue our mission, empowering families and communities toward lasting independence and self-sufficiency. Will you join us?
