REJUVENATION
A supported path into
adulthood and independence.
Haitian-led guidance, practical skills, and trusted relationships help young adults build their next chapter.
Young adults need opportunity and people who will stay beside them as they prepare for independent, adult life.
Growing into adulthood brings new decisions and responsibilities. With limited educational and employment opportunities many of them turn to gangs and dangerous activities to provide for themselves and their families, perpetuating a cycle of desperation and hopelessness. For young people who have experienced family separation, institutional care, life on the streets, or violence, that transition can bring additional challenges. Through Rejuvenation, Overture helps young people develop skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward greater independence.
Beginning with the young adult.
Every young person brings strengths, interests, and hopes for the future. Our Haitian team takes time to understand their circumstances and develop realistic goals together. Support responds to the individual, recognizing that emotional wellbeing, education, relationships, and opportunities to earn a living are closely connected.

Skills for work and everyday life.
Rejuvenation combines vocational learning with practical preparation for adult life. Young people can develop trade and employment skills alongside financial literacy, communication, problem solving, and responsible decision-making. Guidance helps them explore opportunities suited to their interests and the realities of their community.
Haitian mentors walking alongside youth.
Haitian social workers, educators, and professionals bring local knowledge and trusted guidance to this work. Through mentoring and psychosocial support, young people can work through challenges, build confidence, and take practical steps toward their goals. Progress is supported through continued encouragement and review of individual needs.

Belonging while building independence.
Preparing for adulthood includes learning how to build and maintain supportive relationships. Where safe and appropriate, our team helps strengthen family and community connections. For young people who cannot return to family, continued professional guidance and trusted relationships can be especially important as they prepare for independent life.

A milestone does no end our commitment.
Turning 18 does not erase the effects of childhood separation or remove the need for support. Our commitment is to help young people move forward with practical preparation and people they can turn to along the way. Abner's story reminds us why continued guidance matters when a young adult reaches adulthood without family support.
