“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” — ISAIAH 40:31
At Overture, our Haiti Promise is not temporary. It’s a long-term investment in Haiti’s people to walk alongside them and believe in their potential as we empower them with the necessary tools and resources to act as their own agents of sustainable change.
WHY HAITI - WHY NOW?
Right now, our friends in southern Haiti are enduring unimaginable challenges – gang violence, skyrocketing inflation and the tightening grip of a broken political system. These hardships are significant, but so is the hope we hold in the Lord, and the promise we’ve made to walk alongside our Haitian brothers and sisters.

We believe Haitians are fully capable and worthy of living independent, self-sufficient lives. And because we do, Overture is rewriting the narrative in southern Haiti, shifting the focus from dependence to empowerment. Rather than offering provisional aid that perpetuates ongoing need, we’re equipping the people of Haiti to take ownership of their independence by teaching them how to be self-reliant instead of trying to do it for them.

EMPOWERMENT
$20/MONTH
All children deserve a stable home. This is only possible when families are equipped to thrive. You can improve a child's well-being by fostering self-reliance for families and communities.
EDUCATION
$40/MONTH
A leading reason parents relinquish their children to orphanages is because they can't afford schooling. You can stop the harmful breakdown of families by funding a school scholarship for a child.
NUTRITION
$35/MONTH
Our community farm and Diri Lavi! food packaging programs are empowering Haitians daily. You can strengthen families by equipping them with long-term food security and a source of income.
HEALTHCARE
$55/MONTH
Access to medical care is critical for the well-being of a child. You can provide vulnerable children with medical care, preventative care, mental health support and public health education.

INFRASTRUCTURE
$50/MONTH
Physical frameworks and social networks are essential for families and communities to realize independence. You can prevent family separation by supporting the development of both.
Together, we are fostering real change. But we can’t do this work alone. Join fellow supporters like Sue, who shares why she is deepening her Haiti Promise:

AN UPDATE ON PATRICIO:
We first introduced you to Patricio more than four years ago after the 7.2 earthquake in 2021, and we haven’t left his side since. Patricio was born with multiple physical and developmental disabilities. His mother, overwhelmed with despair, sought help from a local center that refused to take him. After being turned away and with nowhere else to turn, she proceeded to leave him outside on the steps of the public market, where he remained alone and vulnerable for two days until child welfare authorities intervened and contacted Overture.
Upon arrival at our campus clinic in Les Cayes, Patricio was assessed by medical professionals, and our team implemented an immediate healthcare plan to stabilize his condition. Social workers began the search for a suitable foster family, recognizing the importance of holistic support tailored to Patricio’s unique needs. Within a few months, our team experienced a miracle named Maculé—a mother of four with limited income and a disabled husband who selflessly welcomed Patricio into her home despite her own challenges.

After six months of rehabilitation and training, a relationship was formed between Maculé and Patricio. This process involved continuous monitoring by our qualified social workers who provided ongoing support and resources to ensure the foster family’s needs were met. It also required community engagement to raise awareness and support for special needs children in general.
Today, with Overture’s continued support and training, Patricio is thriving in the loving care of his new family. And Maculé has now become an advocate for foster families in her community, training and mentoring other families of special needs children while growing a robust foster care network of support for the many others facing similar challenges.

This miraculous story is a perfect example of Overture’s Haiti Promise to walk alongside our Haitian friends as we empower them to become their own agents of sustainable change.
